How much aid is actually available?

And as we just said, there's about $142 billion. And take a look at how it's divided. I think you'll find it interesting.

See, a lot of people devote an enormous amount of time and energy to private fund searches like private scholarships because of their ethnic background, religious affiliations, talents, hobbies, skills, etc. and there are companies that are called scholarship search companies that say "Millions of dollars go unused".

† If you take a look at the pie chart, private scholarships literally make up 3.2% of all of the funds that exist out there. The other 96.8% comes from federal monies, state monies, college monies, and then employer paid monies.

What does that say to you? What it says to me is that for those of you who plan on spending 96.8% of your time going after the 3.2%, you’re wasting a lot of time, energy and money going after crumbs.

You should focus your time and energy on the other 96.8%, which is exactly what I'm here to tell you about and how to do, which is the need-based financial aid sources. That's where the real money is accumulated and that's where the real money is awarded from. So that's where you should spend your time and energy.
