Financial Aid Calendar

If you are going through the financial aid process, there is a certain timetable that you need to stick with to ensure that you receive the funding you deserve. I will update this catagory from time to time to make sure that you are getting things done that need to be done.

February (of the students senior year):

All the FAFSA information should be submitted and complete. Even though you probably do not have your taxes done yet, you should give your best estimate to those quesitons. Colleges and Universities should be submitted, if they haven't been already. The main thing to get done in February is to verify that all the required financial aid forms (most importantly the FAFSA form, the CSS/Profile and any school's institutional forms) have been submitted and that the information is correct. Assuming this has been done, smile and relax because the hard part is done. In the next few weeks you will begin receiving mail from the federal government, which will be the calendar topic in March.

If you haven't submitted the forms mentioned above, get to it and get them done ASAP. You are already about a month and a half behind the pack, and this results in a reduction of aid that may be available to you.
